‘CPU’ tab contains information about CPU (central processor unit) installed in your computer. Show sample
Most of CPU information is very specific and may be useful for experts only.
The main part of information is described below:
CPU Vendor |
original vendor of CPU (for example Intel, AMD etc.) |
CPU Type |
type of CPU, for example Intel 80486, Pentium, Pentium II/III, AMD Athlon etc. |
CPU Clock MHz |
actual (measured in real time) frequency of CPU clock in Megahertz. This value is the main factor that denotes CPU operating speed. |
L1/L2 Cache |
sizes of layer 1/2 CPU caches (in kilobytes). Cache size is an other important factor that denotes CPU calculation speed, especially for processing large amounts of data. |
FPU Present |
is floating-point unit present or not. If present, it significantly increases speed of floating-point operations. All modern processors have FPU. |
MMX Support |
does CPU support MMX instructions or not. If support of MMX is present, it provides possibility of increase in speed of integer operations. Most modern processors support MMX, but not all applications use it. |
SSE Support |
does CPU support SSE instructions or not. If support of SSE is present, it provides additional possibility of increase in speed of floating-point operations. Newest processors supports SSE, but not all applications use it. |
3DNow! Support |
does CPU support 3DNow! instructions or not. If support of 3DNow! is present, it provides possibility of increase in speed of calculations. Most AMD processors supports 3DNow!, but not all applications use it. |
For more specific information about modern processors please visit their manufacturers’ web sites: Intel, AMD
Tip: you can use mouse wheel to scroll information in all panes of the main window of the program.
